Lockdown Diary

With the COVID - 19 being rendered pandemic and seclusion in practice, Corona did invoke a sense of hopelessness amid the students community. This is where Narula Institute of Technology paved us the way to effective online classes with back to back assignments, solutions and study materials. With out faculty becoming our family, Narulites got a new hope towards academia. Thanks to the system to get us connected when social distancing is the norm.

In this pandemonium it has become difficult to continue with normal college schedule. At the same time it is also essential to provide uninterrupted teaching learning procedure to every student. Keeping this in mind it is advisable from IT department to continue with the teaching- learning via both online and offline mode. In this hybrid mode all the lectures would be recorded beforehand and will be uploaded according to the timetable with a one day prior notice. After uploading the lectures the students will get the remaining hour of the day and the entire week to interact with the concerned faculty regarding any doubts on the concerned topic. At the end of the week there will be a special 1:30 hr session for each subject to clear their doubts. This session will be performed in any online platform with real time video like zoom, Google meet, WebeX etc. This end week doubt clearance session would be made mandatory for the students. Attendance monitoring for every lecture will be followed strictly. Same rule will be followed for the practicals too. practicals would be conducted in virtual lab under the guidance and supervision of the faculty and the technical assistants. There will be a module completion assessment after every module and in some cases after a sub module. These assignments will be mandatory and weighted.

After following with the online mode some students would also want to attend college physically. In order to make this possible following the social distancing we would allow 25 percent students in each section to enter the college premises. Only those students would attend college who couldn't follow the online classes or require lab classes. But in college all social distancing norms would be followed strictly. Before entering the college premises everybody should sanitize themselves properly. The faculties would also be attending college thrice a week and in rotation.
