Digital signal processing lab

General information about the Laboratory: Digital signal processing labis used by 1st semester M.Tech(ECE) students. This lab is conducted at 2nd floor room no 305. The approximate area of this lab is 168 sqr feet. This lab comprises of 20 computers with internet facility. The no of students in this lab are 16-18. Each student use a separate computer for experiment.

Course Outcomes

CO1: Able to evaluate convolution of two signals using MATLAB.

CO2: Able to prepare the idea of MATLAB by generating the signals.

CO3: Able to design filters and get idea about responses of filters.

CO4: Able to implement the basic signals and familiarize with TMS kit.

CO5: Able to calculate the poles and zeroes for different systems.

Name of the experiments performed

    1. To generate basic signals using MATLAB.
    2. To study convolution of two signals using MATLAB.
    3. Design and simulate LPF and HPF model for different inputs.
    4. To study the Pole-Zero plotting for Type 0, Type1,Type2 systems.
    5. To generate basic signals using TMS320C54XX .
    6. Write an ALP using instruction of TMS processors to add two numbers.
    7. To design FIR filter using MATLAB and find finite word length effect & cross verify using DSP processor.
    8. To design IIR filter using MATLAB and find finite word length effect & cross verify using DSP Processor.

Name of the innovative experiments

  1. To implement Interpolation filter by Matlab.
  2. To implement Decimation filter by Matlab.

Facility available in the laboratory

DSP lab have well equipped computers. QUALNET softwares for designing different communication networks, HFSS software for antenna design are also exist.Matalab is installed in all computers in this lab.
